Going Mod

60s Mod is coming back in style this fall, all the way from the runway down to Top Shop's collection "Factory Girl". The  look is simplistic, but in its simplicity is a bold style choice to set you apart from a sea of jeans and t-shirts. It begins with the makeup and hair, try Twiggy's bold, eye-widening look with a simple and smooth hair style  (tutorial). Pair this with the fashion choices below and you're well on your way to 60s mod.

Mini skirts, short-shorts, and playsuits in solid colors is a good base to show off long legs.

Asos - $25 (SALE)
Shift dresses achieve the same thing as mini skirts, but hang in a structured sheath.
Asos - $84
The Fair Isle Jumper is another mod-favorite. Like the shift dress, it doesn't emphasize female curves, but instead plays up the androgynous tom-boy look that Twiggy mastered.
Etsy - $16
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, are the accessories. The Mod look is based on simple shapes for the body, but bold and heavy earrings. Twiggy was famous for her silver ball earrings, but other shapes can be worn as well. Twiggy also carried small, structured bags, much like those from Cambridge Satchel Company  and wore low heeled shoes or penny loafers.
